What do I need to consider when organising my timetable for my procedure?
- Plan to take 7-10 days off work
- Keep visitors to a minimum. Rest
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 4-6 weeks
- Wear the recommended compression garment for 2-4 weeks
- Because you are having sedation you are NOT permitted to drive for 24 hours following your procedure. You will only be DISCHARGED after your procedure to a RESPONSIBLE ADULT who must sign a discharge form and you are required to have ADULT supervision for 24 hours after your procedure. You will not be discharged into a Taxi or Home Alone.
- Please be aware if you are not able to organize a carer, we would be able to organise a carer for you at a cost to be determined at the time.
- Clothing – For your comfort please wear LOOSE DARK Comfortable clothing – i.e. dark tracksuit.
- If you are a country patient ie Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Karratha you will be required to stay in perth for 5-7 days.
- For patients more than 20kms from Perth CBD ie Mandurah, Port Kennedy you will be required to stay in Perth for approximately 2 nights.
What to Avoid Pre Procedure?
- Please DO NOT take Asprin, Nurofen, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Green Tea or Anti-Inflammatory medications (7) seven days prior to you procedure. If these medications are essential for your medical condition please inform your doctor immediately.
- SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED pre operatively for two weeks and for six to eight weeks post operatively, nicotine patches are permitted.
- It is advisable to keep your alcohol intake to a minimum for the week prior to your procedure, and 2 weeks following your procedure.
How much does a consultation cost?
The cost of the initial consultation will range in price from $70.00 to $140.00 depending on the reason for your appointment and also the amount of time required.Back To Top
Can I claim on Medicare?
You may only be able to claim your Doctors Consultation and some treatments depending on if there is an appropriate item number for that treatment. A Medicare rebate does NOT apply to cosmetic services unless clinically relevant.Back To Top
