What is 'Revitalise Your Skin'?
As we grow older, the natural volume of our skin diminishes and lines and folds begin to form, resulting in an aged appearance. While we cannot stop the ageing process, you can slow the progression with a number of anti-ageing treatments.Many people are turning to wrinkle injections and dermal fillers to smooth away lines and plump up areas that can make one look older. Best of all, these aesthetic treatments can counteract skin ageing and enhance your facial beauty without the need for surgery.

What to do to prevent bruising?
Before any facial treatment, you should take the following precautions to ensure the desired results are achieved with minimal discomfort.Avoid drinking alcohol as it opens up blood vessels and may increase bruising or swelling. Drink plenty of water and stay out of the sun. If you are using aspirin or similar medication, be aware that these may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection sites, therefore, consult your practitioner for advice. Most importantly, plan ahead, if multiple areas are being treated and you are prone to bruising, book an appointment on a Friday so you may recover as best as possible over a weekend.

What Post Treatment Care is involved?
Immediately after any injectable treatment there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation to the treated area. This is quite a normal response to the injection and usually disappears within a few days. Applying ice to treated areas will reduce swelling. If problems persist, please contact your treating physician.Initial swelling after a lip treatment may last longer. This will be temporary and should be treated according to practitioners’ specifications. If problems persist always consult your treating practitioner.
Things to remember:
- Drink water regularly throughout the day, approximately 8 glasses of water are recommended daily.
- Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours after the treatment. It is best if you are able to:
- keep treated areas free of cosmetics;
- avoid using moisturisers;
- avoid using active products containing AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids/Glycolics), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids), or Retinoid Gels or Creams.
- After 24 hours the area may be gently washed with soap and water, and light water based make-up can be applied.
- Until the initial swelling and redness have subsided, do not expose the treated area to intense heat, for example solarium and sunbathing, or extreme cold.
- Avoid drinking alcohol as it opens up the blood vessels and may increase bruising or swelling.
- If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores.
- If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that these may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
- Do not have facials, facial waxing, Glycolic or AHA peels, Liquid Nitrogen (dry ice) or Laser treatments for 10-14 days after the injection with the dermal filler.
- Laser resurfacing is best done after the dermal filler has disappeared from the skin
How long will a treatment last?
Dermal fillers are long lasting but not permanent. By choosing a non-permanent dermal filler you can continue or change the combination of treatments - and the procedure can be repeated as often as you like.Most patients choose to have a follow-up treatment 6 - 12 months after an initial treatment.
Results from wrinkle injections usually last up to six months; in some instances longer. Continued use, ensures greater durability, as muscles have ‘unlearned’ the frowning or squinting response that originally contributed to the development of the lines.

What type of treatment options are available?
Dermal FillersOne of the telltale signs of ageing is a loss of volume and fullness of the face. Various dermal fillers on the market can address these issues, and be injected beneath the lines in the skin to plump up soft tissue and fill facial hollows. They often contain naturally occurring substances produced by the body.
Dermal fillers are used to smooth out lines and fill areas around the mouth, eyes and forehead and to define lips. Different products have been designed for certain areas of the face. Products used can also depend on the size and depth of the wrinkle that is being treated.
Rehydration Injections
There have also been developments in skin rejuvenation and deep dermal hydration, with products available to counter the effects of sun damage and the natural ageing process. Various products can improve skin elasticity and restore smoothness, as well as deeply moisturise for better skin tone and health.
This new approach to skin rejuvenation uses mesotherapy techniques, a method of delivering medications directly to the treated area. Through a series of injections, medications are delivered into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue found under the skin. A broad range of areas can be treated including the face, neck, décolletage (the area between the neck and breasts) and hands.
Volumising Injections
Volumising injections can be used to replace lost volume and restore facial balance and symmetry, while providing a lifting effect.
These treatments are used to correct severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds and in the upper and mid-face which can cause a droopy and aged appearance.. They can also be used to augment facial features such as the cheeks and chin that may have diminished with ageing. These areas can be built up without the need for surgery.
The depth of injection may vary, but some volumising injections are suitable for contouring over the bone and can be injected deeper than other products.
Wrinkle Injections
Injections that relax facial muscles can be used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. These treatments are commonly used for crow’s feet around the eyes, the central frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) and the worry lines across the forehead. Wrinkle fillers can also produce the effect of a brow lift by elevating the position of the brow.
