What is Skin Rolling?
Skin Rolling treatment is becoming one of the most popular and successful treatments for acne scarring, general scarring, lax skin and fine wrinkles. This unique treatment utilises our bodies own repair mechanisms to heal the treated area without the need for surgery, long recovery time and expense.
How does it work?
Needling the skin using a roller with superficial ultra-thin needles creates tiny areas of trauma initiating a natural healing process, releasing natural growth factors and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. As a result, the skin becomes smoother and tighter. Once the initial production of elastin and collagen have been stimulated by the treatment, the “factories” producing these healing chemicals can continue to work for several months, so as time goes by, your result may improve.This is an extremely popular treatment although the evidence is mostly anecdotal.
The optimum period between treatments is presently regarded as one to three months. This may change with the increased indusrty experience with this unique treatment .This procedure can be very effective, especially in combination with other treatments.
The procedure may be done using a topical anaesthetic cream and once the skin is fully anaesthetised, you should not feel any discomfort. If further anaesthesia is required, a small amount of conscious sedation may be used. It is not recommended to drive for 24 hours after the use of this sedation.
