Wrinkle Relaxers - Wrinkle Treatment Perth, WA

What is a wrinkle relaxer and how does it work?

For wrinkle treatment Perth patients highly recommend we use wrinkle relaxers that are a purified protein (much like penicillin production). When injected into specific muscles, wrinkle relaxers block the nerve impulses, inhibiting the muscle's ability to contract.

When you frown or squint, the muscles in your face tense, forming deep creases in your forehead, in between and around your eyes. These movements are often habitual and frequently result in the formation of fixed and sometimes deep wrinkles or furrows. Wrinkle relaxer is one of the most effective wrinkle treatments Perth has available. By preventing the injected muscle from receiving the nerve signals that tell them to tense. If the wrinkle is continuously improved by repeated treatment, the overlying skin becomes less stretched and better able to resist wrinkling. In time, the habit of frowning may even diminish.

Where can I use a relaxer as a wrinkle treatment to improve my appearance?

The cosmetic uses of relaxers are just as varied as those for general medicine. Wrinkle relaxers can be used as wrinkle treatment for the following problems:

As well as being a highly effective wrinkle treatment, wrinkle relaxers have also been found to be successful in treating excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) by paralysing the sweat glands in the problem areas.

What can I expect during my wrinkle treatment?

The wrinkle treatment can be performed in your practitioner's room and generally takes only a few minutes. No anaesthetic is required (maybe ice only) and your recovery is immediate. There will be a slight stinging sensation at the time of the injection, which should cease immediately after treatment. You will be able to return to work straight after the wrinkle treatment with only the occasional spot bruising and localised swelling at the injection site in a small percentage of patients.

Injections occur specifically into the muscles that cause the wrinkle. To limit the spread of the relaxer from the site of the injection, it is important to not massage the area or exercise vigorously for the next 24 hours. It is also important to remain in an upright (vertical) position for four hours after your treatment.

How long will it take for my wrinkles to relax?

In general, you will start to notice a reduction in muscle contraction (wrinkles) within three to five days, with the greatest reduction after one to two weeks. Some of the wrinkles will disappear when the muscle is weakened, and others will fade slowly as the skin remodels over several weeks. Untreated muscles will be able to move as usual, allowing normal facial expression.

The effects of the wrinkle treatment last for different lengths of time in different people, but most people will require a repeat treatment every three to five months. Some people find the treatment will last longer each time. Others may have the occasional shorter length in duration.

OCCASIONALLY YOU MAY NEED A "TOP UP" AT TWO WEEKS OR SOME MAY NEED A HIGHER DOSE - THIS IS NOT THE NORM.

At any time you may cease your wrinkle treatment with no residual or permanent side effects. As your body regenerates the growth of new nerve endings, the ability to move your muscle will return to normal movement.

Will I feel the same after the wrinkle treatment?

A Wrinkle Relaxer does not usually affect your ability to feel sensation - so after an injection, though you can no longer tense the muscle, you still feel as if you are and your skin still feels normal when touched. In the days after treatment while the relaxer is taking effect, you may experience some unfamiliar sensations such as tingling, tightness or heaviness. This is normal, but always speaks to your practitioner if you have any concerns.

How safe is Relaxer and are there any side effects?

Along with its desired effects, Wrinkle Relaxers may cause some side effects because of a weakening of the muscle surrounding the injection site. This does NOT usually occur and is TEMPORARY. Some other possible side effects are mild weakness of the adjacent muscles for two to three weeks, short-lived headaches (usually the opposite), tingling and bruising.

There have been reports of Wrinkle Relaxers becoming ineffective in some people whose immune systems produce antibodies against it. This occurs in a very small number of patients.

REMEMBER this is not only one of the most popular methods of wrinkle treatment Perth has to offer, but one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the world.

ALSO Wrinkle Relaxers are a preventer of wrinkles and highly recommended and used by the staff at Absolute.
