What is a Non-Surgical (Liquid) Rhinoplasty?

13 Nov 2019

Are you unhappy with your nose, but don’t wish to go under the knife?

The Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty could be the answer you have been looking for.

What is a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

A Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty, also known as a Liquid Nose Job, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses hyaluronic acid as a nonpermanent soft tissue filler to enhance the appearance of the nose. The procedure can reduce the appearance of bumps, lift a downward pointing tip, add shape to a flat nose or reduction in a crooked shaped nose.

What are the benefits of a Liquid Rhinoplasty?

There are many benefits of a Liquid Rhinoplasty, including:

  • It is a minimally invasive procedure with minimal discomfort after a local anaesthetic is injected. Numbing cream and gas are also available at Absolute Cosmetic.
  • There are no bandages, large incisions, or long recovery. Appointments will generally last for 30-45 minutes and will provide immediate results, which improve over time as swelling subsides.
  • Results are temporary – great for patients who do not want surgery, as well as those who are considering rhinoplasty, but would like to test out a new look first.
  • Significantly cheaper than a traditional rhinoplasty. At Absolute Cosmetic Perth, our Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty is from $599per ml (generally no more than 1ml is used per appointment).

What are some of the potential complications associated with a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

Whilst swelling, bruising and bleeding are a probable outcome following the procedure, it is temporary and will get better over time. However, factors like age, genetics and lifestyle can affect the final outcome from patient to patient.  Be aware that the most serious complication that can arise from nonpermanent soft tissue injections can be injecting in the wrong spot that can lead to tissue necrosis.

If injected into a vein or artery, it can lead to blindness or necrosis (death of the skin). The nose is a particularly delicate area of the face, as blood supply to the nose is limited, particularly in noses that have already undergone a previous surgery.

What should I look for when choosing an injector for a Liquid Rhinoplasty?

The nose is one of the most high-risk areas to inject. Therefore, it is important to see a highly experienced injector with an advanced knowledge of the facial anatomy.
