Most of us attribute looking aged to sagging of the skin but a large component is actually the volume loss which then causes this sagginess secondarily. Many people are using dermal facial fillers to add volume to the face and create a more youthful, radiant look.
There are three general methods to treat sagging, volume-less skin:
1) You can stimulate your own collagen with Sculptura or Platelet Rich Plasma from your own blood; these are like fertilisers for the skin and are very natural products. They’re also great for the younger patient looking to prevent aging.
2) SubQ or Radiesse are also naturally based but give instantaneous results with more heavy duty filling and volume for the cheeks.
3) Fat grafting (also often used in PRP) is another way of using larger volumes to semi-permanently fill the cheeks. It is less convenient than the other two procedures and often takes up to a week for recovery. The advantage of this can be long term results and even possibly a solution to the lack of facial volume.
