“Face Shaping” without Surgery

Blog 1

Whether it be loss of collagen contributing to a drooping mid-face, ageing along with genetics causing prominent jowls, asymmetrical features, there is a myriad of non-invasive options available, to enhance, define and correct common cosmetic concerns, to tweak your natural appearance.

Since filters and FaceTune became popular photo tools, non-surgical Facial Contouring and Face Shaping procedures have increased. With this, demand for treatment options offering little to no downtime and lower risk factors, have contributed to a myriad of non-invasive cosmetic procedures.

What is Non-Surgical Facial Contouring (aka Face Shaping)

In short, Facial Contouring is the procedure of reshaping and restructuring features of the face, without surgery. The reason behind a person’s decision to undergo this form of procedure is usually to enhance or define certain features, slim or lift the lower half of the face, correcting asymmetry, or even reduce fat. Treatment is usually carried out through Injectables (hyaluronic acid-based injections and the use of Botulinum toxin injections), Ultrasound Skin Tightening or Fat Dissolving Injections.

Subtly enhance, tweak and define your natural state, with these procedures.

So, for those wanting a subtle enhancement to their natural appearance, check out these minimally invasive procedures, recommended by our Senior Practitioner’s here at Absolute Cosmetic. It is important to remember that there is no “one size fits all”

Hyaluronic acid-based injections

As part of the ageing process, our skin can begin to lose that plump, firm complexion and the face can look tired and gaunt. Commonly referred to as the ‘liquid facelift,’ Hyaluronic acid-based injections can be used in combination with other treatments to restore loss of volume and enhance facial contouring. Achieving a fuller, more toned profile, this procedure is becoming more and more popular in reshaping and balancing the face. The versatility of this treatment makes it so appealing in focusing on many areas of the face including lips, cheeks, nose, chin, jawline, tear troughs, and many more.

Fat Dissolving Injections

Reducing the number of fat cells from a specific area of the body, in particular, the area under the chin. This fat pocket is a common feature amongst the ageing process influenced by genetics and diet. Also referred to as ‘Belkyra,’ these injections again can be used in combination with other treatments to sculpt and define the loss of definition to the chin and jawline. This procedure is also becoming more popular amongst male patients especially due to the increase of assessing one’s appearance via Skype and Zoom calls over the recent months.  The long-lasting effect of 4 years’ worth of results makes this treatment worthwhile for those considering sculpting the lower half of the face.

Silhouette Soft Threads (Non-surgical Thread Lift)

A subtle result in creating a lift, tightening the skin, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles without undergoing surgery. Otherwise known as the ‘Silhouette Soft Threads’ or ‘Thread Lift’ the procedure is particularly suited to those in their 30’s or 40’s looking for a discreet lift. Restoring the natural shape and contours of the face reveals a natural improvement to the skin’s balance and texture, creating a smooth, lifted result that can last up to 2 years. Following the popularity of the thread lift craze amongst Instagram favourites, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, the procedure is becoming more commonplace in opting to ‘lift ‘specific areas of the face in order to enhance and achieve that ‘pulled back’ effect (aka Fox-Eye threads). The versatility of this treatment also makes it so appealing for various demographics being able to focus on many areas of the face such as the face, neck, brow, and temples.

Laser Resurfacing

A transformative treatment that works in enhancing the overall appearance of the skin. Stimulating collagen growth, minimizing pigmentation, acne scarring, and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, really is a game-changer in revitalising a patient’s overall appearance. There are varying degrees of non-ablative and ablative laser treatments that address and target a multitude of skin concerns and desired results. Clear & Brilliant, Pixel, DOT, and Pico are among those recommended laser resurfacing procedures that patients opt for when assessing their skin concerns. They appeal to a wider patient demographic as they are a non-surgical option considered less invasive, more efficient, and have the ability to target many factors affecting the skin all in one treatment.

Ultrasound Technology for Skin Tightening

The end goal will usually revert to achieving that firm, supple skin that we once had. It seems as though overnight the skin beings to wrinkle, sag, and lose that overall glow as the ageing process begins. Skin tightening treatments such as the Ultraformer or Thermage work by using radiofrequency and ultrasound technology to heat the skin and stimulate the formation of new collagen and elastin over time. With the body tricked into healing the area treated, production of collagen is increased, and the skin quality and firmness begin to improve. The procedure is suitable for all skin types and can be administered to various areas of the body including full face, eyes, jowls, neck and even abdomen, thighs, and knees.
