Move over “traditional” lip filler’s, there’s a new cosmetic method on the market..
Lip fillers have long been the pout plumping treatment of choice and for good reason. From big, full lips made trendy thanks to celebrities like Kylie Jenner, to ‘tweakments’ that slightly enhance your natural shape. For years your options were limited to Wrinkle Relaxer, Dermal Filler, Surgical Lip Lifting or Fat Transfer – until now.
Say hello to Absolute’s new Lip Define Package, a new way to define the borders of your lips while enhancing shape. Our new package combines both PDO threads and dermal filler to create the smile of your dreams.
Non-surgical and relatively pain-free, our ‘Lip Define’ package combines premium dermal filler with PDO Mono Threads to help enhance the contour you desire. While traditional lip fillers involve injections of hyaluronic acid to alter the size of the lip, PDO threads offer border definition and shape symmetry through colourless absorbable sutures. The combination – a game-changer in the pout industry.
What Is Lip Threading?
Non-surgical Threading has become increasingly popular over the past year thanks to new advances in technology. Lip threading uses new state-of-the-art synthetic threads made up of PDO, or polydioxanone threads, a biocompatible and non-toxic substance that your body safely absorbs over time, which is injected into the lip border to produce definition and stimulate collagen production. While the threads can add slight volume it’s mainly utilised to contour the natural look of the lip shape. This is why the combination of filler with threads makes sense.
The procedure starts after a complimentary consultation (to discuss your aesthetic goals and create a customized treatment plan) with one of our highly trained Doctors or nurses with an injection of a numbing agent into the lips being treated to ease any discomfort. Two small ‘threads’, are then inserted into the upper lip border just under the skin with the use of a cannula. Volume is added following the threads through the injection of filler to the treating area. Excluding the consultation, the procedure is quick, the whole treatment takes around 30-45 minutes. Fast enough to pop in on your lunch break!
How long does treatment last? Is there any downtime?
Both filler and PDO threads share similar lasting results and associated downtime. Results can be seen instantly and improve in texture and firmness over the following months. The PDO threads will fully dissolve in 6-9 months. During that time, new collagen will also form in the treatment areas, making the results of the threads last for a year or longer, depending on many individual factors such as the patient’s skin condition and age. While Filler in most cases dissolves by the body throughout 6-12months.
Mild side effects can be expected for up to two weeks following a procedure. These include, tenderness, swelling, bruising, a tight sensation and some patients may observe a mild dimpling effect to the skin which, often resolves within a few days. Paracetamol can be taken if required. Your practitioner on the day will provide you will full aftercare instructions.
Is it safe?
Filler and PDO threads are FDA approved and backed by clinical studies as a safe raw material that is completely absorbed by the body through hydrolysis. gynecomastia
It‘s very important to choose an experienced, skilled provider, especially when it comes to a highly advanced, technical procedure like the threading or forms of injectables. Although both can be a relatively simple, safe, and effective procedure in the hands of a well-trained and experienced professional. However, in the hands of a novice, you can end up with disappointing and unnatural results and troublesome side effects.
