Hi Dr Murray back again.

Just discussing injectible rhinoplasty while at the IMCAS (International Master Course on Aging Science) Congress in Bali, thanks for joining me.

Just been to a couple of interesting lectures, regarding the two different methods, it’s amazing how doctors can disagree on things.

One was saying it’s better to inject superficially, and the other was sticking to the traditional method that deeper is better. I agree, deeper is better, I was one of the original doctors to train the Hong Kong doctors in injectable rhinoplasty in 2002. I think it’s much safer to go deeper, there’s less blood supply there and that’s where the traditional rhinoplasty is done anyway. So I think it’s safer and for more peace of mind that’s the way I would continue to do it.

Some more interesting facts – the Asian nose has a lack of cartridge in it and needs more volume than a Caucasian nose. And also there was still a controversy of cannula versus needle, that was agreed that in experienced hands, needles are not a problem whatsoever.

It’s also lifting the tip of the nose, combination of wrinkle relaxer and filler is still the preferred method.
