04 May 2018

There has recently been a warning issued a “Things to Consider Before Undergoing Procedures Involving Dermal Fillers” document. This is due to up to 50 people world-wide going blind after hyaluronic acid-based injections.  This is usually down to an inexperienced injector or inadequate after-care.  Watch Dr Murray’s video to hear the issue’s that one of our previous patients had after choosing to chase a cheap deal rather than go to an experienced injector.

The advice recently released explains that hyaluronic acid-based injections are a medical procedure and patients should not go into these procedures lightly or without asking lots of questions. Patients are advised to read the full article before committing to hyaluronic acid-based injections from any clinic. Ensure that you feel comfortable with your nurse or doctor and that they have answered all questions you have about their experience and the treatment. We offer a non-obligation consultations with our nurses to ensure that patients are well informed before going ahead with any procedure. Q1 Who is performing my procedure?
At Absolute Cosmetic we have a team of highly qualified doctors and registered cosmetic nurses. All medical practitioners can be searched on the AHPRA website, you can see their registration, qualifications and any restrictions that they are working under www.ahpra.gov.au.  All patients who have not had hyaluronic acid-based injections with us before, will require a consent from one of our experienced doctors.

Q2 How much experience does the practitioner have?
This differs from practitioner to practitioner. All staff are trained under Dr. Glenn Murray (AHPRA Registration MED0001196978) Registered Medical Practitioner, and Stephanie Murray. Both Dr Murray and Stephanie Murray have over 20 years of experience in cosmetic procedures and Dr Murray was names one of the Top 10 injectors worldwide.  We also have some of Australia’s most experienced cosmetic doctors and nurses.

Q3 What product will we be using? Is it approved for use in Australia?
Due to advertising regulations we are not allowed to mention what product we use on our Social Media or website. All products that we use are approved for use in Australia. We will go through the various different products available with every patient and if you are welcome to take time to do research into the product yourself.

Q4 What are the risks involved and what level of aftercare will we provide?
We will always go through the risks of a procedure with patients on their consent form and you are welcome to discuss any of the risks with your nurse or the consenting doctor. All procedures come with risks, we have a doctor on call 24 hours per day, 365 days per year for emergencies and we offer all clients complimentary review appointments to discuss any concerns that they have post-procedure.
