Lip Fillers have become one of the most popular cosmetic treatments world-wide. Not long ago they were almost unheard of, then came the ‘Kylie Jenner’ effect. Kylie Jenner’s lips became a huge topic of conversation and the number of ‘post lip filler selfies’ increased hugely. Lip fillers are popular for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to; replacing lost volume as lip volume decreases as we age, correcting naturally uneven lips, adding volume and reducing the appearance of lip lines
How long do lip fillers last?
The longevity of lip fillers will depend on the filler used and how fast your metabolism is. Your body naturally metabolises filler as it is made from a product that is naturally occurring in our bodies, so those with a higher metabolism, such as athletes, will find that their filler does not last as long. As a guide, 1ml of dermal filler will usually last between 3 and 6 months, although some find that it can last up to 12 months.
Are lip fillers painful?
All injections have a level of discomfort. We offer numbing cream and local anaesthetic to all patients and gas is available to those who are very anxious. Nerve blocks seem to be the most effective as local anaesthetic stops the sensation from the injections being transmitted to the pain sensors in the brain.
What brand of lip filler do we use?
Unfortunately due to Australian medical guidelines we are not able to mention the name of filler products on our website or social media. We offer a wide range of dermal fillers suitable for lips, we discuss product selection with patients at consultation, you do not need to decide on a product prior to your appointment. If you would like more information on the dermal fillers available please contact us on 9389 9099.
How much does lip filler cost?
The cost of lip filler will depend on the filler used and the amount of filler used. At Absolute Cosmetic, our lip fillers range from $195 per ml to $699 per ml. We discuss the full product selection with patients during their consultation and advise which filler will be best for the results they are hoping to achieve. It is important to note that you may be able to have a thicker filler injected rather than using more filler.
Is there any downtime after lip fillers?
There is no ‘downtime’ after lip fillers however you will experience swelling. The swelling will be most obvious 24-48 hours after the treatment. After 48 hours the swelling will start to go down, you may notice slight bruising at this point. All swelling and bruising should be gone within 2 weeks of treatment.
