How long do Cheek Fillers last?

The longevity of Cheek Fillers will depend on the filler used, how fast your metabolism is, whether you are a smoker and any medication that you are taking.  Your body naturally metabolises filler as it is made from a product that is naturally occurring in our bodies, so those with a higher metabolism, such as athletes, will find that their filler does not last as long.  As a guide, Cheek Fillers can last up to 2-years, however, we find that most patients find that their cheek filler lasts 12-18 months.

Are Cheek Fillers painful?
All injections have a level of discomfort.  We offer numbing cream and a local anaesthetic to all patients and gas is available to those who are very anxious.  Nerve blocks seem to be the most effective as local anaesthetic stops the sensation from the injections being transmitted to the pain sensors in the brain.

What brand of Cheek Filler do we use?
Unfortunately, due to Australian medical guidelines, we are not able to mention the name of filler products on our website or social media.  We stock many of the most popular Cheek Fillers, we discuss product selection with patients at a consultation, you do not need to decide on a product prior to your appointment.  If you would like more information on the Dermal Fillers available please contact us on 9389 9099.

How much does Cheek Filler cost?
The cost of Cheek Filler will depend on the filler used and the amount of filler used.  At Absolute Cosmetic Medicine, our most popular Cheek Filler starts from $699 for 1ml.  Please note that most patients will have at least 2mls of product (from $1,200).

Is there any downtime after Cheek Fillers?
There is no ‘downtime’ after Cheek Fillers, however, you will experience swelling.  The swelling will be most obvious 24-48 hours after the treatment.  After 48-hours the swelling will start to go down, you may notice slight bruising at this point.  All swelling and bruising should be gone within 2-weeks of treatment.  It is recommended that you sleep with an extra pillow and avoid sleeping on your face.
