Skin Boosters contain a compound that naturally occurs within the skin, similar to Dermal Fillers. This compound is the key to hydrated skin, but our levels start to naturally deplete in our mid to late 20s. The product is administered via a series of tiny, superficial injections, they are like micro-droplets which absorb water, bringing hydration, improved firmness and improved smoothness and overall quality of the skin.
Anyone who is over the age of 18 and looking to improve their overall skin quality can be a good candidate for Skin Boosters. They are suitable for all skin types and tones except those with active acne. This is a great treatment for those who are looking to reduce or prevent signs of ageing and enhance skin hydration.
You will have a full consultation with one of our highly experienced Cosmetic Doctors or Cosmetic Nurses to come up with a personalised treatment plan to address your skin concerns.
Although the injections are superficial, we have numbing options available for patients who would like to reduce discomfort. You can use numbing cream or a local anaesthetic to reduce discomfort during the treatment. The procedure will take 15-45 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated.
As with all injections, you may experience some redness, swelling and bruising. Any time that you break the skin with a needle you risk bruising, no practitioner can guarantee that you will not bruise. Swelling or discomfort can be reduced by applying a cold compress to the treatment area.
You may see some results immediately, however, they may continue to improve over the next 3 months as new collagen is generated. With our newest Skin Booster only 1 treatment is required, some patients will come for a top-up. Results can last for up to 9-months.
