​Cellulite occurs when fat deposits push through the connective tissue beneath your skin. This causes your skin to pucker and look lumpy. It is estimated that 80-90% of women experience cellulite, you do not need to be overweight to have cellulite, many people of a healthy weight and body fat percentage experience cellulite.

Cellulite usually affects your buttocks and thighs, but can also appear in other areas. It can affect anyone, whether large or small, with women being more likely affected due to their different distributions of fat, muscle, and connective tissue.
