Reducing the signs of aging on the body

14 Jul 2022

We often discuss facial rejuvenation and how to maintain a refreshed appearance. Just like the face, the body undergoes changes such as ligament stretching, muscle distension, and skin crepiness. These changes aren’t always easy to navigate.

Skin, all over the body, is like a piece of silk. Ideally, you can keep the silk in its original condition. However, once we damage the silk, we cannot restore it to its former glory. Unlike a piece of silk, we cannot leave our bodies in a cupboard for our whole life, away from anything that may damage it. Many things in life bring us joy and enrich our lives while also causing damage to our bodies, for example, playing sports or childbirth. So today, we are here to talk about prevention.

A common sign of aging or deterioration is skin laxity. Skin laxity is a crucial part of the discussion of the facial aging process due to reduced collagen, elastin fibres and hyaluronic acid. This reduction begins in your mid-30s to 40s. However, this laxity occurs all over the body, not just on the face. One of our favourite treatments to help combat skin laxity throughout the body is Renuvion.

The Renuvion device ionises helium gas with radio frequency energy to create helium plasma. A combination of heat with ionic and reactive particles from the plasma cloud changes the dermis and underlying architecture. The result is more toned skin with a less crepey appearance.

A benefit of utilising plasma energy is that it is delivered more precisely than laser energy making Renuvion Body Contouring a lower-risk procedure and reducing the risk of damage to the surrounding tissue.

The procedure benefits anyone with mild to moderate loose skin from age, weight loss or pregnancy. In addition, it is an excellent option for a patient already planning to undergo liposuction to prevent potential loose skin. Some patients may see instant results from this procedure. These results may also improve as time goes on.

So, if you’re worried about cellulite, stretch marks, scarring, loose skin, or other signs of aging showing on the body, treatments can improve it. To discuss our full range of treatments, book a consultation with one of our nurses on 1300-NEW-YOU. They would love to discuss which treatments would be best to address your concerns.

*It’s important to recognise that any cosmetic surgical or invasive procedure comes with inherent risks and the possibility of complications.
