What is Regenera Activa?
Regenera Activa is a technique used in halting male and female pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) as well as a treatment for skin rejuvenation. What happens during the Regenera Activa Hair Loss Treatment?
When used to treat androgenetic alopecia, the procedure starts by extracting 3-5 tissue samples from the back of the patient’s scalp. The samples contain several hair follicles each, as well as the surrounding fat and vascular tissue. This sample is placed into the Regenera machine which grinds the sample into a solution containing growth factors and progenitor cells with extremely powerful regenerative properties which are then injected into the patient’s scalp. The treatment is designed to stimulate hair growth, hair thickening, and inhibition of hair loss.

How successful is the treatment & how many treatments are required?
Results vary from case to case, relying on individual medical factors: age, genetic input (number of genes for this pathology, which may determine the speed and the extent of alopecia). Microscopically we can observe a significant reduction in the number of reduced hair within one month, and towards the fourth month, we can observe changes in quality and higher hair density. There are many patients that have a single session and after 2 years still enjoy the achieved results. However, every patient is different and it is important to visit your doctor and perform a microscopic evaluation every year.
How much does the hair loss treatment cost?
The cost of Regenera Activa treatment starts from $2,500.
Consultation
If you would like to assess your suitability for this treatment and obtain a final costing, we recommend that you book a consultation with one of our Doctors; the cost of this appointment is from $100.00 (partially claimable through Medicare). Please note, all new patients will be required to pay the consultation fee at the time of booking to secure their appointment.
What is the downtime of the Regenera Activa treatment?
The Regenera Activa treatment has no associated downtime however patients are required to avoid pools and the sea for a week. Because Regenera Activa uses autologous micro-grafts extracted from the back of the patient’s scalp there is no risk of allergy or tissue rejection.
The very little circular marks at the back of the head from where the tissue has been obtained become crusts, they usually heal within 7-10 days. Small circular marks can remain, but these are usually covered by growing hair and become invisible over time.
