Mini Face Lift (Thread Lift)

The Mini Lift also know as the S-Lift or a ‘Face Lift’, can give similar results to the traditional Mid-Face or Face and Brow Lifts, but is considered less invasive and has reduced operating and recovery time. Incision sites are created around the ear to allow Dr Murray to ascertain the SMAS muscles and give an upward lift. Mini Lift candidates are patients that require a significant lift, looking to bring back such features as a sharper jaw line and mid-face rejuvenation.

Suitable candidates for a Mini Lift

If you have the desire to rid yourself of loose, sagging tissue on the face and neck, and you’re in good physical, emotional and mental health, with normal skin thickness and you have realistic expectations, you may be a good candidate for a Mini Facelift.

If your skin is quite slack in the area you may opt for a face, brow and neck lift instead, or a combination with laser resurfacing and fat transfer. Only a qualified professional will be able to determine your individual needs.

Also, if you’re considering losing weight, you may want to wait until after your target weight is achieved, because you may need additional lifting or skin removal surgery to alleviate consequent excess skin. Otherwise, you may be wasting money on this procedure if you proceed beforehand.

Alternative Options to the Mini Face Lift:

The Ultra Mini Lift is carried out in much the same way as the Mini Lift procedure. In comparison with the Mini Lift, the Ultra Mini Lift utilises smaller incision sites with less excision of the skin and less muscle lift. This procedure is suitable for patients who do not yet require the Mini Lift.

A Closed Thread Lift is a minimally invasive procedure with no cutting of the skin required. This procedure is more suitable for younger patients with good skin quality.

During the procedure, the threads are passed through the hairline towards the area to be lifted. They are passed just under the skin with a long needle and then used to pull the skin backwards to the hairline, resulting in the ‘lifting’ of the skin.

The price of a Closed Thread Lift starts from $3,300 – as per the below.

Silhouette Soft Threads is a technical innovation using the precise placement of dissolvable threads under the skin to provide an instant effect that shortens the effects of ageing and gravity. Soft Threads are intended to produce a natural look through subtle changes. Each treatment is tailored to the individual patient and can be adapted to suit your specific needs and preferences.  See more information on Silhouette Soft Thread Lift.

Mini Lift cost

The cost of a Face Lifting procedure will depend on which option is chosen and what other procedures are going to be alongside it. The Silhouette Soft Thread lift starts from $2,000 and will depend on how many threads are required. A Closed Thread Lift starts from $3,300. An Ultra Mini Lift starts from $6,600 and a Mini Face Lift starts from $9,900.

Mini Lift surgery important information

Smoking and illicit drug use must be strictly avoided before the procedure.  We take smoking very seriously as a high risk for any procedure, so you must be aware of the cancellation policy if you smoke.  Smoking increases the risk of some serious complications during and after surgery. Ideally, you should stop smoking at least 8-weeks prior to a procedure, cutting down does not reduce the risk of complications, however, the greatest health benefit is gained by quitting smoking for good.  More information about the possible complications, as well as information about how to quit, is available here.

You should be fit and healthy, and avoid blood thinning medication such as aspirin, anti-inflammatory medicine. You must fast on the day of the procedure. You are able to eat dinner as usual the night before, then you must stop drinking fluids at midnight. On the morning of the procedure you can take a small sip of water to take your pre-surgery medication.

At least 2-consultations are needed before most procedures. A full history and examination will be conducted. You will be started on antibiotics and extensive instructions will be given.
