How is the procedure performed?
The procedure is performed as an outpatient treatment and no incisions are needed. The threads are placed under the skin via needles. Local anesthetic or emla can be applied prior to this. Usually, the recovery is immediate. If you bruise easily you may notice some bruising.
What happens after the procedure?
You’ll need to ice the area, but make sure the cold packs are not placed directly on the skin. Take Panadol 2-4 hourly for the next 2 hours. Don’t apply makeup for 24 hours.
Sleep with an extra pillow on at least a 30-degree angle for 3-5 nights. Be very gentle in washing and shaving your face.
For the first 2 weeks, avoid sun exposure and tanning beds, contact sports, dentists, saunas and over-expression.
Avoid significant massaging of your face for 4 weeks.
