What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliation procedure that helps to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, revealing a smoother and more even texture. This technique can assist in reducing the appearance of enlarged pores and may also benefit individuals with mild acne by promoting clearer skin. Additionally, microdermabrasion can support skin rejuvenation by enhancing elasticity and addressing early signs of aging, such as fine lines around the neck and mouth.

What does Microdermabrasion do?
As we age, fibroblast or cellular activity decreases and our skin’s strength and elasticity can wane. This can facilitate the appearance of lines and wrinkles as blood flow decreases, and the production of new skin cells drops dramatically.
Microdermabrasion is designed to support skin rejuvenation in cases of:
- Acne
- Ageing and Sun Damage
- Acne Scars
- Pigmentation Marks (suitable for Asian skin)
- Stretch Marks
- Fine Lip and Character Lines
- Enlarged Pores
How does Microdermabrasion work?
Microdermabrasion employs a modern mechanical exfoliation and gentle aspiration technique to resurface the skin. A diamond-tipped abrasive disk is gently guided over the skin, erasing the layers at varying depths in a controlled manner. This technique aims to minimise skin trauma, while a gentle suction is used to remove any dislodged skin cells.
You can also combine Microdermabrasion with a chemical peel (Microdermabrasion Deluxe) Combining Microdermabrasion with a chemical peel may enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. The peel is applied to your skin and is removed with the Microdermabrasion machine. The peel breaks down and loosens more dead skin cells on the skin’s surface, helping the Microdermabrasion to be even more effective. This deeper treatment is not recommended for people with sensitive skin.
What does Microdermabrasion feel like?
Microdermabrasion is a sanitary and low-risk procedure. The skin abrasion feels scratchy, and depending on the strength of the therapy, you may have minor redness and a ‘wind burnt’ sensation for up to 24 hours afterwards.
How often should I get Microdermabrasion treatment?
We will provide a treatment plan based on your skin’s health and personal objectives. Microdermabrasion can be done on a weekly or monthly basis.
What happens after the treatment?
This non-invasive technique respects the skin’s integrity, minimises trauma and creates healthy, vital skin through promoting new cell growth. It’s possible to improve some skin conditions and skin imperfections.
Having 5 or 6 treatments, separated by 1 or 2 weeks often produces optimal results.
Healing time is typically 1–24 hours, with minimal peeling or flaking, though individual experiences may vary.
ADD ON TREATMENT: NCTF BOOST 135 HA
The NCTF BOOST 135 HA can be applied post-treatment to enhance ingredient penetration, promoting deeper absorption and enhancing rejuvenating effects.
