How do Skin Boosters / Micro Fillers work?

Skin Boosters contain a compound that naturally occurs within the skin, similar to Dermal Fillers. This compound is the key to hydrated skin, but our levels start to naturally deplete in our mid to late 20s. The product is administered via a series of tiny, superficial injections, resembling micro-droplets that absorb water, enhancing skin hydration, firmness, smoothness, and overall skin quality.

Who is a good candidate for Skin Boosters or Micro Fillers?

Anyone who is over the age of 18 and looking to improve their overall skin quality can be a good candidate for Skin Boosters. They are suitable for all skin types and tones except those with active acne. This is a great treatment for those who are looking to reduce or prevent signs of ageing and enhance skin hydration.

When will I see results after Skin Boosters?

You may see some results immediately, however, they may continue to improve over the next 3 months as new collagen is generated. With our newest Skin Booster, only 1 treatment is required, however some patients will return for a top-up. Results can last for up to 9 months.

Treatment Alternative: Rejuran

Rejuran Polynucleotides work in the same way as a skin booster by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production through fibroblasts, the cells that create collagen. It is a polynucleotide DNA-based cosmetic injectable that does not use hyaluronic acid. This helps to hydrate the skin and regenerate collagen and elastin.

As a result, it can slow down the aging process, improve skin hydration, and address fine lines, wrinkles, pores, texture changes, and scarring, including acne scars. The main ingredient in Rejuran is Polynucleotide Rejuran (PDRN), which is derived from salmon sperm DNA.

You will have a full consultation with one of our highly experienced Cosmetic Doctors or Cosmetic Nurses to devise a personalised treatment plan to address your skin concerns.

Although the injections are superficial, we have numbing options available for patients who would like to reduce discomfort. You can use numbing cream or a local anaesthetic to reduce discomfort during the treatment. The procedure will take 15-45 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated.
