What is a wrinkle relaxer?
Wrinkle relaxers are a purified protein (much like penicillin production). When injected into specific muscles, wrinkle relaxers block the nerve impulses, inhibiting the muscle's ability to contract.Back To Top
What can I expect during my wrinkle treatment?
The wrinkle treatment can be performed in your practitioner's room and generally takes only a few minutes. No anaesthetic is required (maybe ice only) and your recovery is immediate. There will be a slight stinging sensation at the time of the injection, which should cease immediately after treatment. You will be able to return to work straight after the wrinkle treatment with only the occasional spot bruising and localised swelling at the injection site in a small percentage of patients.Back To Top

How long will it take for my wrinkles to relax?
In general, you will start to notice a reduction in muscle contraction (wrinkles) within three to five days, with the greatest reduction after one to two weeks. Some of the wrinkles will disappear when the muscle is weakened, and others will fade slowly as the skin remodels over several weeks. Untreated muscles will be able to move as usual, allowing normal facial expression.Back To Top
How safe is Relaxer and are there any side effects?
Along with its desired effects, Wrinkle Relaxers may cause some side effects because of a weakening of the muscle surrounding the injection site. This does NOT usually occur and is TEMPORARY. Some other possible side effects are mild weakness of the adjacent muscles for two to three weeks, short-lived headaches (usually the opposite), tingling and bruising.Back To Top
